# Gitcoin Grants Platform and Technology

In order to truly decentralize governance of Gitcoin Grants to Community Stewards, we must decentralize the Gitcoin platform and technology. Currently Gitcoin Holdings operates the Grants product. Information about the process of decentralization and basic timeline can be found in the Decentralize Gitcoin Workstream on:
